Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: In adults aged 55 or older who are at high risk of major cardiovascular events (due to a history of coronary artery disease, stroke, or high-risk diabetes), the 80 mg dose is used to lower the chance of a heart attack, stroke, or death from heart problems.
TELMIS 80 mg (telmisartan) tablets are primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes in high-risk adults. It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs).
